Hope ascribes to the core beliefs of Christianity, most commonly found in the Nicene Creed or the Apostle’s Creed. The Nicene Creed, for example, is nearly 1700 years old, standing the test of time as a faithful representation of the core beliefs of most Christians. We have simplified and modernized these texts to distill them to our core beliefs as follows:
We believe that there is only one God and three distinct persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) who are fully God in being and in attributes.
We believe that humankind was created to be in perfect relationship with God, but because of our disobedience, our relationship with God is broken and every person is in need of Grace, redemption in Jesus.
We believe that the only way to be reconciled to God is to have a relationship with Jesus Christ and to know that His death on the cross is sufficient to pay for our sins.
We believe that the Bible is Spirit-inspired, absolutely authoritative, applicable and without error when understood in its literary and historical contexts.
We believe that the church is a community of Christ followers who desire to glorify God and bring hope and healing to our world.
