“Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.” -1 Timothy 4:12
Do you have a teenager and need support in laying the foundation for a God-centered life for them? At Hope, we know the teen years are crucial to pointing a young person in the way of goodness, love, integrity, and truth. This time of life can be a challenge for many reasons. We want to stand alongside you as parents and teach truths that will provide a framework for your child to live a better life based in Jesus’ love. We would love to meet your teen and have them experience the fun and care within our Youth Group. There’s a warm welcome here!
Youth Group at Hope Church is every other Sunday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., down the hall in our Youth Room or outside in Hope Park. This important time gives all our middle and high school students a chance to play games, have fun, get to know one another, and discuss the morning’s Biblical teaching to deepen their understanding and enrich their walks with Christ. For parents, this meeting time exactly overlaps with the Harvard Gulch Hope Group, so that parents can attend their own small group, while students are in Youth Group.
We also hold monthly Game Nights and other events held at locations all over metro-Denver – hosted by a combination of staff, volunteers, and dedicated parents who wish to provide a healthy and safe environment for connection and encouragement. You can sign up for more information, event reminders, and monthly updates by joining our Youth Hope Group at this link. Mission
At Hope Church, we’re all about relational discipleship—and youth ministry is no exception. Our Youth Director works closely with parents, the Lead Pastor, Elders, and Hope Group Leaders in our church to give students a wide community of positive relationships with trustworthy people they can count on. Our goal is to teach our middle and high school students how to effectively foster a relationship with Jesus, listen to the Holy Spirit, study the Word, and seek God’s presence, guidance, and peace in their daily lives.
“For you, O Lord, are my hope, my trust, O LORD, from my youth. O God, from my youth you have taught me, and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds.” -Psalms 71:5,17
Values
- Identity – We believe an important part of adolescence is testing and examining our world views, and correcting and clarifying what we believe, and building our own life, faith, and identity. At Hope we seek to give students a safe environment to ask difficult questions and wrestle with their inner struggles in order to truly accept a personal faith and identity in Christ Jesus.
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” -Matthew 7:7
- Connection – In addition to identity formation, current research suggests a second emphasis to teenage development: interpersonal relationships. We value giving students as many opportunities to gain relational skills and connection with others as possible, so they can process their experiences in a healthy and positive way. Whether with parents, friends, leaders, teachers or anyone else in their lives: we value making positive connections.
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” –John 13:34
- Joy – When given tools to find their identity in Christ and form positive connections, there is a natural outcome: joy. We believe in holding fun events, celebrations, outings and doing everything we can to support the abundant joy of the Lord in the lives of our students!
“Then shall the young women rejoice in the dance, and the young men and the old shall be merry. I will turn their mourning into joy; I will comfort them, and give them gladness for sorrow.” -Jeremiah 31:13
