Dear Hope,
We believe Jesus guides His people into newly imagined meadows today as he did for our ancient friends along Galilee’s shores in the first century. His path is available to all who will ask, wait and listen. So, asking and patiently listening has been our church’s role this spring and summer. As promised, our Enthroned Jesus has been fulfilling His role by opening our souls to living ideas from the Bible and transforming our frustrations with the status quo into motivation to be a part of His prevailing-church future. Kindly, He has given us 5 vivid images for our upcoming ministry year (Sept. ’23 through Aug. ’24).
It is my privilege to share that over the next 5 Sundays we will be reading and meditating on the Biblical writings, imagining the pictures we have received and considering how each of us can ask the Holy Spirit to blow like the wind that we may be lifted and empowered to see all 5 come to be. I hope you will join us this Sunday at 9 a.m. as we begin week 1 of 5 under the banner, “Imagine a Church that Blesses Kids.”
With Curiosity and Love,
Dean

9 AM SUNDAY WORSHIP | AUGUST 20. It’s tough for children to walk closely with Jesus in our present world. And, It’s especially challenging for parents to answer the new questions and navigate the surprises involved in raising young souls in 2023. Hope Church, we have been summoned by Jesus to love, encourage, support and bless the children in our community. Join us this Sunday to consider the priority Jesus placed on children and lift up prayers of blessing, at the start of the new school year, over our children, school staff and parents! Lead Pastor Dean Wertz brings us a message titled Imagine a Church that Blesses Kids from Mark 10:13-16. If you are unable to join us in person, please visit the 9 a.m. livestream or view the recording here.
THIS SUNDAY! SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE. Let’s bless our neighbors! Children’s Ministry is collecting school supplies to donate to a local elementary school that serves a range of needs. As you are out running errands in the next week, please consider grabbing an extra box of crayons, pack of glue, set of scissors, or even a backpack. Items can be dropped off in the “School Supply” basket next to the “Food Bank” baskets in the foyer by Sunday August 20. A school supply list organized by grade for Asbury Elementary is posted on the cork board above the baskets for additional supply ideas.
