9 AM SUNDAY WORSHIP & COMMUNION | AUGUST 6. Loneliness is a desire for human connection while feeling isolated. According to studies from the University of Chicago Medical Department, there is a connection between loneliness and health issues such as cardiovascular disease, diminished sleep quality, increased inflammation and decreased viral immunity. This Sunday, let’s explore God’s life-giving plan that displaces loneliness with joy and hope in our lives. With an opportunity to encourage one another, join us at 9 a.m. as Lead Pastor Dean Wertz brings us a message titled Encouraging One Another in a World of Distractions from Hebrews 10:19-25. THIS SUNDAY 6PM CELEBRATION! This summer our beloved Pastor Jay Oertli decided to make a shift from a staff position at Hope to a volunteer position. In order to help celebrate this transition and Jay’s many years of service on our staff, we will be holding a BBQ this Sunday, August 6 at 6 p.m! Everyone is welcome. Food will be cooked outdoors, and there will be outdoor games weather permitting. We will have seating, music, and more games inside the Commons. If you would like to attend, please plan on bringing a side dish or dessert to share! Hope will be providing hot dogs, hamburgers, and drinks. CHILDREN’S MINISTRY.
Children’s Church – This 1st Sunday of August, children ages 3 yrs. – 5th gr. are invited to Children’s Church following worship. Kids, please join us for a time of fun learning about our good God together!Nursery – Childcare for babies and toddlers, ages 0-3, is available this week (and every 1st and 3rd Sunday). Parents are welcome to bring children directly to the nursery following check-in.
YOUTH. Hey parents and students! No youth group this coming Sunday, but we will be meeting again on Sunday, August 13 from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. in the youth room!
UPDATED FOR AUGUST: FOOD BANK IN NEED. The local Community Ministry is in need of these specific items. mac & cheese, tomato products, soup, stuffing, pie crust mix, evaporated milk, gravy packets, cake, frosting, boys clothes (6 and under), diapers (size 7), plastic grocery bags. Please consider donating at this important time. Items can be brought to the collection basket in the Foyer.
JOIN THE WORSHIP TEAM! The worship team would like to have more vocalists consider joining the group. Practices are Thursday evenings and female voices are especially welcome to balance the worship team. We’d love to sing with you! Please contact Joel Noble if interested and thank you!
7 PM THURSDAY WORSHIP | ALL INVITED. Calling all those who love to sing and/or play instruments! We are now gathering every Thursday in the Sanctuary from 7 – 9 p.m. Joel Noble, will be bringing extra instruments and offer casual lessons for those who want to learn to play guitar/ukulele/bass/mandolin/etc! During this time the worship team will also practice for Sunday mornings. Bring your instruments and your favorite worship songs in mind. Some weeks we may even enjoy a meal all together.
