Dear Hope,
Our Advent Journey began last Sunday and will continue through the four Sundays leading up to Christmas. Advent is a Latin word meaning, “coming” so through the centuries and around the world, many in the Christian Church honor this period of preparation for to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ at Christmas while also anticipating His future next coming in glory. This Advent, we are meditating on Jesus as incarnate which means “God in flesh” and considering various implications of this divine phenomenon. Join us for the four Sundays of Advent as well as any or all of the special gatherings throughout December including our Children’s Christmas Presentation during the 9 a.m. service on Sunday 12/18; Christmas Eve at 6 p.m. on Saturday 12/24; and for the Senior Ladies, the Christmas Luncheon on Tuesday 12/13 (see details below).
May God bless us all as we abide in the One who comes near!
Love,
Dean

2ND SUNDAY OF ADVENT | DECEMBER 4 | 9 AM. Not all religions are the same. Nor are all “gods.” During the Christmas Season, we celebrate the incarnation of the All Mighty, King of Kings and Lord of Lords. When He “became flesh” it revealed to us who God The Father is and how He loves, relates to and cares for us. As a result, the Incarnation is the reason we can sing “Joy to the World, the Lord has come!” This Sunday is the Second Sunday of Advent, Hope’s four-week journey toward the celebration of Jesus’ birth. One of Hope’s Elders, Rob Cupp, will continue our Advent series with a message entitled Incarnation: The Character and Glory God Revealed. Join us at 9 a.m. Sunday and In addition to gathering together, we offer our Service livestream and a full Service recording here.
