3rd SUNDAY OF ADVENT | 9AM WORSHIP. We welcome you, family and friends to the Advent Season leading up to the celebration of our King’s birth. This Sunday, one of Hope’s Elders, Dan Kaskubar, will bring tomorrow’s message titled Generosity from Philippians 4:14-17. Thanks to the Harvard Gulch Hope Group for hosting and helping with tomorrow’s Service! If you are unable to attend in person, both a livestream and sermon recording will be available for you here.
FAMILY CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE. Please join us for a special candlelight worship Service at 5 p.m. on December 24. This is a very sweet opportunity to bring family and friends to join in celebrating the true meaning of Christmas. As in year’s past, children will join their parents in this Service, and the Baby Sky Box will be available for those with infants. We are so looking forward to this time together!
MISSIONARY HIGHLIGHT TOMORROW. Don’t miss an update from The Hoots/Awakening Hope Ministry in tomorrow’s Service! We are excited to hear from them and also post the below news.
Awakening Hope has been honored to provide multiple soul-care offerings this summer and fall. Thank you, Hope Church, for prayerfully and financially supporting this work! Here are some highlights for you…
Hope Heals Camp
For two weeks this July we served other families and individuals experiencing disability in Alabama at Hope Heals Camp. In addition to individual and group spiritual direction sessions that Joy provided, we also hosted two breakout sessions for campers. Watching God begin the process of awakening hope in hurting hearts was a gift to witness—and after camp God has opened new doors for Awakening Hope to provide soul care for some participants!
Belovedness Banquet. In September we designed and hosted a “Belovedness Banquet” for 30 college-age students at Hope Church where we provided a small taste of God’s extravagant love and passionate pursuit of each of them. We wrapped the event up with a banquet experience and special time of blessing over each of their lives. One student shared, “It was so wonderful …to experience the table of the Lord and to celebrate with one another. It was truly amazing and unforgettable. Thank you!”
Father’s Caregiver Cohort. In April we launched a father’s care-giver cohort that meets monthly by zoom to connect, support, pray, and encourage other fathers who are caregiving for one or more children. We are so encouraged to see community developing where a felt sense of being alone on the journey can often dominate.
Women’s Caregiver Retreat. In November we designed and hosted an in-person, day-long retreat for women who are caregivers. Many of the Hope Church family volunteered time, food, and welcome baskets to create a truly beautiful gathering. Joy led discussions on the topic of “Lament and Hope” and facilitated a grief share that invited participants toward belonging and belovedness in the context of shared lived experiences. One participant said afterwards, “I feel free.” What a gift to witness the presence of Christ meet these women and hold the heartache and joy in our mixed “cup of life”.
We are very excited for the new offerings already being planned for 2026 and couldn’t be more grateful for a church community that has been so supportive and prayerful as we have launched this ministry. Thank you!
