Dear Hope,
When needs arise beyond what our own families, friends and Hope Group members can assist with, we have an amazing group of people ready to assist! Our Care Team includes Paul and Lissa Barr, Ardetta Paul, Tanya Koneman, and Pastor Jay and Marti Oertli. Recently, Pastor Jay shared, “There are a wide variety of needs and opportunities to serve those within our Hope family through the Congregational Care Team. It’s all about caring for each individual, whether that be in the home, the hospital, assisted living, a nursing care facility, or meeting someone in other locations for times of encouragement and fellowship. We thank God for our Care Team through whom we send countless cards of congratulations, encouragement, sympathy, etc.; make frequent visits; initiate phone calls, emails and texts; and bring flowers, gifts, etc. when the occasion and/or need arises. It is a privilege to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those who are experiencing very difficult and painful situations.”
If you are interested in learning more and/or joining this essential group of care givers, or if you learn of a need, please email Pastor Jay.
Thank you to each of you on our Care Team for doing so much in our times of need!
Love,
Dean

SUNDAY WORSHIP | JANUARY 15 | 9 AM. Is it true that “everything happens for a reason”? It is true that God integrates both our good experiences and our bad experiences into his plans to bless us? It’s easy to believe that God uses our “highs” to bless us, but does he also use our “lows”? Joseph had extremely high “highs” and low “lows” and the ways God used them to bless him and those around him long ago help us understand how he blesses us today. Join us this Sunday, January 15 at 9 a.m. as we ask these important questions and seek the answers God has revealed through a fascinating narrative of betrayal, redemption, and forgiveness. Executive Pastor Arik Stewart brings us a message entitled Sovereignty: Does Everything Happen For a Reason? If you are not able to attend the Service in person, join us via livestream or view the recording here!
HOPE GROUPS. This Sunday’s Service will be hosted by the Harvard Gulch Hope Group – thank you! If you’ve been thinking about joining a Hope group, we’d love to connect with you! Click here for more information.
CHILDREN’S CHURCH. This 3rd Sunday of the month, kids ages 2 through 5th grade are invited to participate in Children’s Church! Rebecca and Tara will be leading a lesson on Knowing God is Sovereign through the story of Joseph.
Parents, please stop by the the kids check-in station to pick up a family discipleship guide with activities and discussion questions for all ages related to this week’s Knowing God story.
YOUTH. Don’t forget, we have our Chili Game Night coming up on Friday, January 20 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. This will be a great night of games, food, and fun held at the Farrell Home. Please RSVP with Tara or reach out with any questions.
LIVESTREAM. Many households who join us remotely on Sunday mornings may have noticed an interruption with our livestream during December. To those of you who were not able to connect with us as a result, we apologize! After diagnosing the problem with our service provider last week, we are happy to announce that the issue has been resolved. All services from December (including Christmas Eve) and January were recorded and are available here. Looking forward, our livestream is set to resume as scheduled on Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. Thank you for your grace and patience. We look forward to having you joining us remotely on Sunday once again!
MEMBERSHIP CLASS. Becoming a part of a local church is a gift from God when we become His children through faith in Jesus. If you consider Hope to be your church family, have you considered becoming a member? If so, or if you just want to learn more about the church, join us NEXT Sunday, January 22 after the service (10:15 to 10:45 a.m.) for an informal Membership Class! Childcare and refreshments will be provided – please RVSP by emailing Tara or sign up on Sunday at the Info Booth.
FINANCIAL UPDATE. Thank you so much for prayerfully seeking God’s guidance for both monthly and year-end giving. We are excited to report that He inspired many households in our church to be generous, enabling us to end the calendar year in a cash-positive position! Please continue to pray and respond to God’s guidance so that we can also end our ministry year in a cash-positive position in a few months. You can learn more about giving here. If you have questions about our financials, please contact our Executive Pastor Arik Stewart.
