Pastor Jay Oertli and his wife Marti Oertli
SAVE THE DATE!
This summer our beloved Pastor Jay Oertli decided to make a shift from a staff position at Hope to a volunteer position. In order to help celebrate this transition and Jay’s many years of service on our staff, we will be holding a BBQ on Sunday, August 6 at 6 p.m. More details to come. If you would like to attend, please plan on bringing a side dish or dessert. Hope will be providing hot dogs, hamburgers, and drinks. You can RSVP with Tara.

9 AM SUNDAY WORSHIP | JULY 30. If you are considering becoming a follower of Jesus, you may suspect that remaining faithful when questioned by unbelievers could be a challenge (“I don’t want to appear foolish!”). If you are a Christian, you may have seasons when a culturally-acceptable world view of another causes you to waver (“Yikes, is this really true?”). Since it is natural to experience hesitancy regarding public steadfastness with and for Christ, join us this Sunday at 9 a.m. as we consider together what enduring faithfulness to Jesus looks like and how to experience it in a distracting world. Lead Pastor Dean Wertz brings us a message titled Holding Fast in a World of Distractions from Hebrews 10:19-25. If you are unable to join us in person, please visit the 9 a.m. livestream or view the recording here.
NOTE FROM DEAN FOR SUNDAY. As a next step in becoming a more relationally interactive community during our Sunday gathering, I plan to teach this passage using our head, heart & hand method. Rather than using the handheld mic, I’ll briefly repeat for the sake of everyone, what God says to us through those who participate. It’s going to be interesting and fun!
HOPE GROUPS. The Sunday’s Service will be hosted by the Harvard Gulch Hope Group. Thank you Harvard Gulch for helping and serving! If you’ve been thinking about joining a Hope group, we’d love to connect with you! Click here for more information.
CHILDREN’S MINISTRY.
This 5th Sunday of the month, we welcome back Kelly and Danny Smith as regular leaders of Children’s Church! Kids 3 years old – 5th grade are invited to Children’s Church, where we will be diving into Hebrews 11 to answer the question, “what is faith?”
Children under the age of 3 are invited to stay with their parents in the service or utilize the baby sky box with their parents for added privacy.
YOUTH. Hey parents and students! Thank you so much to everyone who was able to join Tara H. and James last Sunday. Did you miss last Sunday? Traveling over the summer? No worries! Watch this week’s Alpha video at home to keep up with the conversation happening at Hope. This week’s discussion was titled “Bible: Why and How Do We Read The Bible?”
FINANCIAL UPDATE. As we continue to thank God for his provision through generous gifts and savings, we are acknowledging our present and ongoing financial deficit, and collectively seeking God’s direction for decreasing our reliance on savings. If, as you pray for Hope, you have any insights to contribute during this collaborative process, please share your ideas with one of our Elders (Jay Oertli, Dan Kaskubar, John Shanks, Rob Cupp or Dean Wertz). If you have questions about our financials, please contact our Executive Pastor Arik Stewart or any of our Elders.
UPDATED: FOOD BANK IN NEED. The local Community Ministry is in need of these specific items. mac & cheese, tomato products, soup, stuffing, pie crust mix, evaporated milk, gravy packets, cake, frosting, boys clothes (6 and under), diapers (size 7), plastic grocery bags. Please consider donating at this important time. Items can be brought to the collection basket in the Foyer.
JOIN THE WORSHIP TEAM! The worship team would like to have more vocalists consider joining the group. Practices are Thursday evenings and female voices are especially welcome to balance the worship team. We’d love to sing with you! Please contact Joel Noble if interested and thank you!
7 PM THURSDAY WORSHIP | ALL INVITED. Calling all those who love to sing and/or play instruments! We are now gathering every Thursday in the Sanctuary from 7 – 9 p.m. Joel Noble, will be bringing extra instruments and offer casual lessons for those who want to learn to play guitar/ukulele/bass/mandolin/etc! During this time the worship team will also practice for Sunday mornings. Bring your instruments and your favorite worship songs in mind. Some weeks we may even enjoy a meal all together. No RSVPs are required. If you have any questions, please email Joel.
HAVE A NEED? Your Hope family is here for you. If you need prayer, financial assistance, or help in any other way, please reach out to Tara Farrell.
