OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD | PACKING PARTY THIS SATURDAY
November 12
10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Calling all volunteers to join us in the Commons (enter through the NW door on Colorado Ave.) to help pack shoe boxes with donated items and prepare them for shipping worldwide to children in need! Lunch will be served, and many hands are welcome (great activity to invite friends) to make light work of all the generous donations!
And… we are still collecting items to be packed into shoeboxes. Bring items to the packing party or deposit them in the appropriately marked bin in the Sanctuary by our OCC Information Table on Sunday. Some categories for gift items include: craft and art supplies, school supplies, personal hygiene items, and toys and gifts.
For ideas about what items are needed (and what items NOT to include) check out this link: Official Shoebox Gift Suggestions. If you have any questions or would like more information, feel free to call our OCC Coordinator, Joan Thacker at 720-299-5598 .
9 AM SUNDAY | NOVEMBER 13. “Gentlemen,” he said, holding a pigskin in his right hand, “this is a football.” Vince Lombardi was coaching a group of three dozen professional athletes, yet he started from the beginning. Reminders are always helpful and often essential. Join us this Sunday at 9 a.m. as we receive the Apostle Paul’s reminder of the Gospel that he preached and in which the church lives. May God meet with us, restore our clarity in His Gospel and send us into the week abiding in and abounding for the Lord Jesus Christ! Lead Pastor Dean Wertz will continue our Series In Christ, in Culture with a sermon entitled The Gospel the Apostles Preached. If you are unable to worship in person, we invite you to attend via livestream or watch the Service recording online.
HOPE GROUPS. This Sunday’s Service will be hosted by the On Campus Hope Group – thank you! If you’ve been thinking about joining a group, we’d love to connect with you! Click here for more information.
YOUTH. Welcome to Fall, students! Join James Wertz after the gathering this Sunday, November 13 from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. for Youth Group. This week we will be outside on the Logan St. side of the building to pile all the maple leaves into the most epic leaf pile the world has ever seen! It will be a ton of fun and we can’t wait to see you there!
CHILDREN’S MINISTRY. This Sunday all children ages 2-5th grade are invited to Children’s Church, where we will be learning our 9th essential truth of the Gospel – God offers the free gift of salvation to those who believe in Jesus. Kelsey and Becky will be leading the kids in a study of John 3:16. Next Sunday will be our final week in this series. Family discipleship guides for each of the 10 essential truths are available at the welcome booth. For more information about Children’s Ministry, please contact Becky Newquist.
TURKEY BOWL. You are invited to join us for hot chocolate, donuts, and flag football on Thanksgiving morning (weather permitting) starting at 9:30 a.m. in the northwest corner of Harvard Gulch Park. This annual tradition is fun for all ages! RSVP: please email Rebecca Wertz or text/phone 303-601-2201.
CHRISTMAS PROGRAM. The children of Hope will be putting together a Christmas program that will be shared during our Sunday service, December 18! Mark your calendars and prepare your hearts to be delighted by the telling of the birth of our Savior through the children’s narration and theatrical interpretation. The Children’s Choir will also be leading the congregation in some traditional Christmas carols. All are invited to stay for a time of fellowship and festive treats following the service.
