1ST SUNDAY OF ADVENT | NOVEMBER 27 | 9 AM. This Sunday is the 1st Sunday of Advent, the church’s four-week journey toward the celebration of Jesus’ birth. Throughout Advent 2022, we will learn the essential reality of Jesus’ incarnation. Join us at 9 a.m. as we worship the Incarnate Deity in song, prayer and a message for all ages lifting up Jesus as “God with us” who has come to save His people from our sins! Lead Pastor Dean Wertz begins our Advent Series He Became Flesh, God with Us with a sermon entitled Hail the Incarnate Diety from Matthew 1. We hope you will be able to join us! YOUTH. Hope you are enjoying your Thanksgiving Break, students! Join us this Sunday, November 27 after the service from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. for Youth Group! We will play games, enjoy snacks, and being our Advent series discussion and activities. Can’t wait to see you there!.
CHILDREN’S CHURCH. All children, ages 2-5th grade are invited and encouraged to participate in Children’s Church this Sunday. We will begin each gathering of Advent with a short Advent devotional and then switch gears to rehearsing for the upcoming Christmas Program. This Sunday, Kelsey will be introducing the script and assigning roles. For those not interested in performing in the Christmas Program, we will have important roles in costuming and set building. ADVENT RESOURCES. Every family with a child in Children’s Ministry will be gifted a set of Advent Blocks – a family Advent devotional and handcrafted advent calendar made by Good Kind – to bring home and together anticipate the coming of Emmanuel, God with us. Additional Advent resources are available to check out on loan from our family ministry resource library in the foyer.
CHRISTMAS PROGRAM. The children of Hope will be putting together a Christmas program that will be shared during our Sunday service, December 18! Mark your calendars and prepare your hearts to be delighted by the telling of the birth of our Savior through the children’s narration and theatrical interpretation. The Children’s Choir will also be leading the congregation in some traditional Christmas carols.
CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON FOR SENIOR WOMEN & FRIENDS. During this beautiful and joyful Christmas season we remember and rejoice at the birth of our Savior! What a wonderful opportunity to gather in person for this year’s Christmas Luncheon! You are invited to enjoy a delicious “all you can eat” meal with us at Golden Corral Restaurant on Tuesday, December 13 at 11:30 a.m. Golden Corral is located at 3677 South Santa Fe Drive, Englewood 80110.
