Each week, in the bulletin below, we offer the opportunity to serve others through an important local effort. Community Ministry’s main mission is to meet the basic needs of individuals who are experiencing economic hardships and related problems.Jesus said, when you feed the least of these, it is like feeding Him Himself! What an amazing chance we all have to give to those in need in our community. Also, what a testimony to Jesus’ love to bring an abundance of these needed food gifts from Hope to Community Ministry.
Won’t you consider donating as we near the Holidays? Maybe talk to your family and get them involved as you go through your pantry or take a trip to the grocery store together?
We thank you in advance for your donations. A collection basket is in the Foyer. Very specific needs have been shared with us – tuna, jelly, cereal, and diapers (sizes 6 & 7). We are also now collecting for Thanksgiving and Christmas food boxes. Items needed include: Stuffing, Pie Crust Mix, Evaporated Milk, Gravy Packets, Cake, and Frosting. Thank you!
9 AM SUNDAY | OCTOBER 16. Like gravity, photosynthesis, germination and everything beautiful in our world, sex was God’s idea. As the inventor, designer and overseer of sex, God has been comfortable communicating His intentions and guidelines for sexuality among His people. One of the places where He does so is in 1 Corinthians 5-7. Join us this week and next as we consider God’s vision for this mysterious reality and what fidelity to God’s plan looks like. Lead Pastor Dean Wertz will continue our Series In Christ, in Culture with a sermon entitled Fidelity Within the Church. If you are unable to worship in person, we invite you to attend via livestream or watch the Service recording online.
HOPE GROUPS. This Sunday’s Service will be hosted by the Platt Park Hope Group – thank you! If you’ve been thinking about joining a group, we’d love to connect with you! Click here for more information.
FALL FESTIVAL 2022. This October, we are holding an all-church, all-welcome Fall Party on Sunday, October 30 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Grab the whole family and come to our outdoor potluck-style picnic. CHILDREN’S MINISTRY.
- Sunday Morning. All children ages 2-5th grade are invited to Children’s Church this 3rd Sunday of October! Continuing to fill their treasure boxes of Understanding the Gospel, the kids will be learning about the essential characteristic of God’s MERCY this week. Rebekah, Tara, Carol, and Joan will be leading our children together with all ages combined, as well as in smaller break-out groups. To continue discipleship at home, family discussion guides will be available at check-in.
- Children’s Choir. Children’s Choir has been joyfully practicing and preparing a worship song to share with the congregation next Sunday, October 23rd. Rehearsal is this Sunday 10:00 – 10:30 a.m. in the Youth Room immediately following Children’s Church.
