Dear Hope,
This Sunday we are having a bake sale after church! Hope, we need you to donate baked goods and be ready to purchase some amazing treats! Why?
We have already packed 189 Operation Christmas Child boxes for this year, but now we need to raise money to ship the boxes.
We still need to raise $1,250.00 to be able ship all the boxes. All proceeds of the bake sale will go for the shipping.
I cannot thank you enough for all the support and help with Operation Christmas Child in the past. I couldn’t have done it without you.
And, thank you in advance for baking and supporting this effort. This program provides amazing Christmas gifts to children around the world and spreads the joy and love of Jesus!
Love,
Joan Thacker, Hope’s Operation Christmas Child Coordinator
9AM SUNDAY WORSHIP | OCTOBER 22. Jesus proclaimed many astounding things throughout his ministry but the most astonishing—the most controversial—was his claim that He, a human man, was also the divine Son of God. Some responded to this proclamation by trying to silence Him. Others continued listening to Him, believed His claim, and amplified it. Jesus’ claim is relevant to us today because, when we recognize its significance, we too must decide whether to silence Jesus or to amplify Him. Join us this Sunday at 9 a.m. to worship Christ, pray as He prayed, and respond to his claim of deity. Our message this week (from Executive Pastor Arik Stewart) is titled The Relevance of Christ’s Deity and is based on John 8:48-59. We look forward to seeing you! If you are unable to join us in person, please visit the 9 a.m. livestream or view the sermon recording here.
SUNDAY RECORDING ACCESS. Although our 9 a.m. livestream will continue to stream the full Sunday service, please note that our website recordings will now only include the Sunday sermon. Currently, we are unable to record our worship music at the same level of quality as is experienced in-person through the sanctuary speakers. Once we are able to match the quality of the music in-person over livestream, we hope to once again include the full service in the recorded posting. If you are in the pattern of worshiping via the full recorded version of the service and would like to have continued access to that, please reach out to Becky Walker as she is working on a process to provide this to you. Thank you for all those who support Hope via livestream and online!
HOPE GROUPS. We are so thankful for all the Sunday service assistance from our wonderful Hope Groups. This Sunday, we thank the On Campus Hope Group for helping! Hope Groups are an amazing way to connect to others, deepen your relationship with God, and discover there is a family here for you at Hope. If this sounds like something you are interested in, we’d love to have you join us! Click here for more information on all our Hope Groups.
CHILDREN’S MINISTRY.

Arik Stewart will be bringing an interactive message, relevant to all generations. Coat Drive – Let’s help our new neighbors! Many refugees who have just relocated to Denver are in need of winter coats, hats, and gloves. We are partnering with Lutheran Family Services, a nonprofit that helps refugee families secure housing and supply basic necessities. They are in great need of items to keep them warm this winter. Please bring your gently used and clean winter coats (all sizes!), hats, and gloves to our Fall Fest on Sunday October 29. If you are unable to attend the Fall Fest, there will be a Coat Drive basket for donations Sunday morning as well. Donations will be delivered to families Monday Oct 30. Thank you in advance for your generous donations!
FINANCIAL UPDATE. Thank you to everyone who participated in our ministry year vision and budget process this past summer and to everyone who has generously given to Hope Church! We are excited to announce that after many months of having more expenses than income and having to draw from savings, our expenses and income were almost break even in September. Thank you, Lord for providing financial peace! If you have any questions about Hope’s financials, please contact Arik Stewart.
FOOD BANK | LOOKING FOR A WAY TO SERVE? The Community Ministry is in need of the following items: Jelly, Pie Crust Mix, Cake, Frosting, Cream of Mushroom Soup, Pumpkin, Canned Potatoes, and Evaporated or Sweetened Condensed Milk. Please consider donating these items by placing them in the collection basket in the foyer. Thank you, Hope!
JOIN THE WORSHIP TEAM! The worship team would like to have more vocalists consider joining the group. Practices are Thursday evenings and female voices are especially welcome to balance the worship team. We’d love to sing with you! Please contact Joel Noble if interested and thank you!
7PM THURSDAY WORSHIP | ALL INVITED. Calling all those who love to sing and/or play instruments! We are now gathering every Thursday in the Sanctuary from 7–9 p.m. Joel Noble, will be bringing extra instruments and offer casual lessons for those who want to learn to play guitar/ukulele/bass/mandolin/etc! During this time the worship team will also practice for Sunday mornings. Bring your instruments and your favorite worship songs in mind. Some weeks we may even enjoy a meal all together. No RSVPs are required. If you have any questions, please email Joel.
