9 AM SUNDAY | OCTOBER 9. This Sunday, we welcome back our Lead Pastor Dean Wertz from his sabbatical! In order to reconnect as a community, Dean will be leading our congregation in a time of sharing words of encouragement and testimonies of the work God has been doing in our lives. Then, next week, Dean will continue us in our study of I Corinthians. HOPE GROUPS. This Sunday’s Service will be hosted by the Aurora Hope Group – thank you! If you’ve been thinking about joining a group, we’d love to connect with you! Click here for more information.
YOUTH. Youth Group will be happening this Sunday, the 2nd Sunday of October. Come and join us for snacks, games, and a sermon discussion! We can’t wait to see you all. Youth are also encouraged to attend our Fall Festival (see above) with their whole families at the end of this month.
CHILDREN’S MINISTRY.
- Sunday Morning. This 2nd week of October, all kids ages 2-5th grade are invited to Children’s Church, where we will be continuing our series on understanding the Gospel. Becky, Kelsey, Joy, and Olivia will be with the kids this week and leading breakout groups by age (2 yrs-K and 1st – 5th grade). Family discipleship discussion guides will be available at check-in.
- Pumpkin Patch. This Saturday Oct 8th 10:00 – 12:00 – Families of Hope! Come join us at The Patch Farm in Elizabeth, CO for some fall harvest fun, including an expansive pumpkin patch, giant corn maze, petting zoo, low ropes course, hay ride and more! Tickets can still be purchased individually here.
THANK YOU! Join us in giving an enormous thank-you to our Tech Coordinator, Kevin McMichael! Kevin has been a part of our staff for over decade and helped Hope through countless events, updates, and transitions. When Covid-19 shut our services down, he was an integral part in developing our livestream process, enabling us to continue reaching people across our city, nation, and even across the world! We simply couldn’t have done it without him, and his dedication has richly blessed our community. Kevin is now transitioning off of staff at Hope in order to spend more time with his family, but he will continue attending services as an important member of the Hope family. If you happen to see him sitting in the pews (not the booth!), please join us in thanking him for all that he’s done for Hope.
FALL FESTIVAL 2022. This October, we are holding an all-church, all-welcome Fall Party on Sunday, October 30 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Grab the whole family and come to our outdoor potluck-style picnic. Be sure to bring a dish to share and a blanket or folding chairs as we enjoy the new season outside in Hope Park. Refreshments and meal materials (plates, forks, napkins) will be provided. We will also have exciting games and activities for every age, including:
- All-ages, kid-friendly costume contest (with prizes!)
- Fire pit for roasting marshmallows
- Cornhole and bobbing for donuts
- Face painting
- And more!

FOOD BANK. The Community Ministry Food Bank is requesting the following items: tuna, jelly, cereal, and diapers (sizes 6 & 7). Please consider donating! A collection basket is in the Foyer. We are also now collecting for Thanksgiving and Christmas food boxes. Items needed include: Stuffing, Pie Crust Mix, Evaporated Milk, Gravy Packets, Cake, and Frosting. Thank you!
