WORSHIP MINISTRY TRANSITION

Dear Hope,
After 18 months of faithful service as our Interim Worship Leader, Jamie Walker will pass leadership to Scott Newquist, who will begin serving as Hope’s Worship Leader on September 1.

Jamie has served Hope with steadiness, humility, and love for Jesus. In addition to leading worship most Sundays, she helped develop a rotational approach that has brought Kelsey, Angelica, Runner, and more recently Scott into regular worship leadership. Jamie has brought vision, stability, and encouragement; coached volunteers; worked closely with our tech ministry; and helped us worship each week with faithfulness and joy.

Scott and his wife, Kristi, began attending Hope in October 2025, and Scott began leading worship once a month in December 2025. Scott has served as a worship leader for more than 25 years, and after several months of prayer, we sense God’s guidance and timing in this transition.

We are deeply grateful for Jamie’s leadership and excited to welcome Scott into this new role. Please join us in thanking Jamie for her faithful service and praying for Scott and Kristi as they step into this next season of worship leadership at Hope.
Dean

Dear Hope Family,
I wanted to share some words of encouragement on the upcoming transition to Scott Newquist. I have been blessed to have served as the Interim Worship Leader at Hope for the last 18 months. While I’ve served for a significant time, Dean and I always shared the intention to wait patiently on the Lord’s timing to find a long term fit for Hope’s worship leader, and I am confident in Scott taking on this role in partnership with Kristi.

It is amazing how God works behind the scenes in our lives, and I have seen God at work within this transition for all parties involved. We are called as believers to fully trust even when the answers are not clear, or the answer takes a while. We know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

I would encourage us to join in prayer for Scott and Kristi as they take on this new position. May God bless them in this new role. And May He be ever present at Hope.
Jamie

Dear Hope Family,
I am so grateful to serve as Worship Leader at Hope. As I prayed about stepping into this role, I kept coming back to this: I love Jesus and my heart’s desire is to create space where we can cultivate a deeper love for Him together. My hope is that every time we gather, our eyes would be fixed on Christ, and we can worship Him in spirit and in truth.

This past year has been challenging for Kristi and me. Yet through it all, God has been faithful. His faithfulness is what gives us confidence as we begin this new chapter. Thank you for welcoming us so warmly. It is an honor to serve at Hope, and I’m excited to see what God has in store as we worship Him, together!
Scott

Please join us in prayer for Jamie, Scott and the whole worship ministry team as we walk through this transition together. Pray that God would continue to guide Hope’s worship ministry, strengthen those who serve and help our church family fix our eyes on Christ as we continue to worship Him in spirit and in truth.
