Using the "More" Tag to Break After Specific Point

Normally, an excerpt is shown on the short view of a post (when viewing multiple posts). The excerpt is either manually entered by you or automatically generated from the first few sentences of a post. Instead of showing the excerpt, you can show the first part of your actual post content (including formatting, images, etc.) and control where it breaks.

For example, you are reading the main post content right now (not an excerpt) and the “more” tag has been placed directly after this paragraph. As a result, on the short view, no more content is shown after this paragraph. Instead, a button for reading the rest of the content is shown. The user then clicks that to view the full post.

A Request & Thank-You Note from Dean

The charts below illustrate that this is because so many of you give generously throughout the year and offer an extra…

Coming Clean: A Story of Faith

A book review by Nicole King I can’t remember why I picked up this book a couple of months ago. Most of my reading comes by way of recommendation, either from a friend, a blog, or from a suggestion on amazon.com. I think I first heard of this one through a blog, but whatever the reason, I’m so glad I read it!…

Vision for the Next Ministry Year

The focus of our Sunday morning teaching over the next year will be the topic of listening. God is continuing to form us into a relational, disciple-making community in which all of us are seeking to follow Jesus in all of life and help others to do the same. A key to living with and following after Jesus in this way is…

Three Reasons to Tell Your Story

by Nicole King There are probably an infinite number of reasons that we tell stories. As humans, it seems to be something we are hard-wired to do. There’s just something engrossing about narrative; a good story captures our full attention in the way nothing else can. I’ve always loved reading good fiction and grew up…
