Dear Hope,
After playing basketball for the Heritage Nationals, I transferred to a new middle school where I joined the Calvin Tigers. It was the same game with a different coach, different players and a new playbook. Over time, many of us experience more than one church. Christian churches have the same Lord Jesus Christ. Most churches have the same vision for Jesus to be honored among the nations and the same mission to be disciples who help others become disciples. Yet, there is variety in how local churches engage in this way of life known as discipleship. Within Hope we unite as Christ-followers to grow, gather, give and go. So, beginning this Sunday, July 10, we will begin a 4-part series focusing on each of the four commitments in Hope’s Playbook.
Join us on Sunday and each that follows as we worship God and receive encouragement to abide in Christ through growing, gathering, giving and going!
Love,
Dean
9 AM SUNDAY | JULY 10. Our bodies grow until they stop growing. Yet our life with God is meant to grow continually. When the first disciples devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, they began their life-long journey of increasing nearness to God. Join us on Sunday to learn how you can increase your closeness to God and why a commitment to grow for the duration will produce a life of sustained exhilaration. We look forward to gathering in person or online as Pastor Dean brings us a message entitled Growing in Christ from Acts 2:42-47. See you Sunday!
CHILDREN’S MINISTRY. This Sunday is the 2nd Sunday in July so Children’s Ministry will be available for ages 2 years-5th grade. To learn more about our recurring Children’s Ministry schedule, click here.
YOUTH. Happy summer, students! This Sunday, July 10, our Youth Director Tara Farrell will be out of town – so there is no youth group after service this Sunday. However, we are really looking forward to our next summer event: Chatfield Beach Day! We are inviting all our middle and high school students to come spend a day at the beach with us on Friday, July 22. We’re meeting at Hope Church at 10am to load up and drive to Chatfield – and we aim to be back at Hope by 2 p.m. for parent pick up. Please bring a pack lunch, swimsuits, towels, and any extra things you would normally bring to a beach day! We also know many of you will be on vacation throughout the summer, so please RSVP with Tara by Monday, July 18, so we can plan for car seating, water bottles, and snacks.
FOOD BANK. The Community Ministry Food Bank tries to maintain a stock of the below foods. Please consider donating in the upcoming weeks. A collection basket is in the Foyer. Thank you!
- Canned Fruit
- Canned Vegetables
- Pasta and Rice
- Dry and Canned Beans
