Pastor Jay Oertli brings 44 years of pastoral experience to his ministry at Hope Community Church. In addition to serving as Pastor for Congregational Care, he leads the Missions Team. He started out in the business world, earning an MBA in Accounting from the University of Denver, and then became a pastor after receiving a Master of Divinity degree from Denver Seminary. He has served both as a senior pastor and as an associate pastor. Jay retired as an Army National Guard chaplain and now serves part-time as a chaplain for three businesses while providing pastoral leadership at Hope.

Jay and Marti have two children, Susie and Danny, and six grandchildren. Susie graduated into heaven in 2018. Danny is Executive Pastor at another Denver church and is also a Christian musician. Arik Stewart, who serves as Executive and Youth Pastor at Hope is their oldest grandchild. Jay loves fly fishing, sports, and reading as recreational pursuits.
