As Assistant Worship Leader, Leah helps the Worship Leader coordinate and plan Sunday morning worship. On a weekly basis, she schedules worship volunteers, selects music sets, attends and participates in planning meetings, and ensures that rehearsals and Sunday morning services run smoothly. Additionally, Leah focuses on the discipleship and encouragement of women musicians at Hope. She also uses her time to foster relational growth and cohesiveness between the members of the worship team through informal gatherings and encouragement.
Leah holds a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology & Audiology from Calvin University and is currently working as a Speech-Language Pathologist for Denver Public Schools, serving middle and high school students in Title 1 Schools. She has a passion for giving voice to those in the margin, and being a conduit for God’s light in places of darkness. Leah has been involved with worship ministry since childhood and has always adored God best through singing and music. She enjoys reading a good book, hiking, traveling with husband Arik (who is also on Hope’s staff), running at nearby Wash Park, and trying out interesting new recipes.
