We are grateful for consistently excellent leadership among our youth. Here’s a brief update on some recent and upcoming changes (see picture, left to right). While Dara Robertson will continue leading our students in worship, God is rearranging our men. On Feb. 1, Charlie M. Shakwa will transition from Youth Pastor to Missionary in Residence. This will allow Charlie to continue serving on our youth team while also being freed up to travel to dark, dangerous, and despised places as God leads. Arik Stewart will serve as our new Youth Pastor. Arik grew up within Hope, served as our Interim Youth Pastor during the summer of 2013, is a Junior at DU, loves Jesus, is the grandson of Jay & Marti Oertli (Jay is our Pastor for Congregational Care) and loves to have fun. Welcome Arik! Stephen Felks, who served as our Interim Youth Pastor while Charlie was in Tanzania this winter, will serve as a student intern with Hope this winter and spring. Stephen will continue on our youth team and assist our pastoral staff as he prepares to graduate from CCU and, most likely, move to Kansas where his fiance, Hailey, currently lives. Thanks Dara, Charlie, Arik, and Stephen for abiding in and shining for Jesus before our students and all of us in the Hope family!
