HOPE KIDS
Welcome Riley Barrett & Thank You Anna McMichael!
In the midst of many recent transitions at Hope Church, we are so thankful to have found an intern who has as much love, light, and laughter as Riley Barrett! Riley is the newest addition to Hope Church’s staff and officially started on October 10 as our Kids Ministry Intern. Riley is currently a freshman at Colorado Christian University, majoring in Youth Ministry and a minor in Outdoor Learning. While growing up in Magnolia, TX, Riley developed a strong passion for the outdoors and loves hiking, camping, and backpacking in her free time. Riley also has a strong passion to serve the Lord, and has spent several of her high school years as an intern at her local church, working with kids and middle school students running summer camps, weekend retreats, and even international mission trips! She loves the welcoming feel of Hope Church, and with so much practical experience, we are very grateful to have her stepping in to fill part of the Kids Ministry Director Role.
Our previous Kids Ministry Director, Anna McMichael, served faithfully at Hope Church for almost 9 years, and she has been attending Hope for 14 years. While Anna has transitioned off of Hope Staff, she is excited about our new Kids Ministry Intern and has been volunteering her time regularly to help train and orient Riley to the wonderful Kids Ministry program she developed here at Hope. See Anna’s note, below. We want to extend a warm and loving thank you to Anna for all you have done for Hope and our precious little ones.
I’m thankful that Hope is a place that welcomes and cares about children. I love how kids are invited to worship, learn, participate and build friendships right along side the adults. God’s love for children is evident here. I’m also thankful to see Riley stepping in to coordinate and invest in our Kids Ministry on Sunday mornings! It’s been a joy getting to know her recently, hearing her love for the Lord, her desire to invest in young people and her eagerness to build relationships with each of the kids at Hope. I’m looking forward to seeing all that God has in store for Riley and for Hope’s Kids Ministry in this new chapter! –Anna McMichael
SUNDAY SERVICE 9 AM | OCTOBER 31. We are exhorted to hold up the shield of faith in all circumstances, to extinguish the arrows of the evil one. Just what are those arrows? Attacks come in many forms, including accusations, deceptions, distortions, distractions, false assurances, and temptations. How does faith in God act like a shield in these attacks? We can draw on the heroes of our faith and on Jesus himself to consider how we, too, might stand against and be empowered to overcome these attacks to produce lasting fruit in the Kingdom of God. Join us in person or online/live and recorded service) as Dan Kaskubar brings us a message entitled The Shield of Faith from Ephesians 6:10-18.
HOSTING. This week’s Sunday Gathering will be hosted by the Youth Hope Group!
