Holy Week Without the Holy One

by Pastor Dean

With unexpected developments around the world, expanding traffic around our city, and increasing pressures upon our lives, it is likely that we could walk through Holy Week without the Holy One. So, God invites us to come to Him each day to cast our cares, be still and know that He is God. God encourages us to gather in groups to ask loving questions like, “How’s it going living with and following Jesus in all areas of life?” And God offers us a weekly gathering so He can tune our hearts to sing His praise and reassure us of His resurrected presence.

Father, help me to grieve for the people of Syria with Christ. Help me to drive James to catch his bus with holy weekChrist. Help me to sing “Hosanna” on Palm Sunday with Christ. Help me to play with Jimmie with Christ. Help me to listen to Your Word preached with Christ. Help me to confess my sins at the cross on Good Friday with Christ. Help me eat the bread and drink the cup with Christ. Help me to love our neighbors and enjoy the egg hunt in Platt Park with Christ. Help me to sing about and preach about the empty tomb with Christ.

“Abide in me … I am with you always.” – your Resurrected Lord of All
