The Ascension: Why Did Jesus Leave? | Acts 1:6-11

After the emotional blow of Jesus’ death on a cross, and the emotional high of his victory and resurrection, the ascension of Jesus can feel a bit… anti-climactic. Whether you’re a follower of Jesus or not, you may be asking yourself: why did Jesus leave so soon after he resurrected? What are we supposed to do now without Him here on earth? Join us this Sunday as our Ministry Coordinator, Tara Farrell, brings us a message about the relevance of Christ’s ascension and casts a vision for how we can continue working with him even now, thousands of years later.

All-Powerful Deliverer: Who is this God? | Genesis 15: 12-1

“Life Happens” is an often-heard phrase when we try to explain difficulty, pain and setbacks people face in life. Sometimes when “life happens”, the deeper and often unspoken question asked by those who have faith (and even those who don’t) is “Who is this God that allowed….or caused….or didn’t act in time?” We see this in the story of Moses. Israel finds themselves at the end of 400 years of being the slaves of Egypt and a God they have only heard about in family stories begins to move. And it doesn’t always seem that He moves in their favor. As they ask their questions, God is on a mission and revealing to His People who He really is.

Thanksgiving and Prayer for Power | Ephesians 1:15-23

Many people pray. Who we pray to and what we pray for makes all of the difference. As Paul writes to the church in Ephesus, he expresses his thanks to God for them following Christ and then he shares with them what he prays for them. What he prays is not for their safety or their prosperity, but for their full experiential knowledge of what they have in Christ – Hope and His Great Power! What would change in our lives if we received this type of prayer and prayed it for each other?

King of Hope

We are overwhelmed by the characteristics of the world: prejudice; war; disease; overpopulation; energy shortage; terrorism; economic depression; environmental issues; poverty. Yet, we are even more overwhelmed by the characteristics of Christ: enduringly strong; entirely sincere; eternally steadfast; immortally graceful; imperially powerful; impartially merciful.
